Key Responsibilities:
The Curriculum Specialist will be involved in the following essential functions to support the development and enhancement of the American Curriculum at the school:
- Collaborate with instructional staff to develop, implement, and assess curriculum documents, course content, and instructional resources that reflect high standards and align with school goals.
- Monitor the effectiveness of the curriculum and instructional practices through the analysis of student performance data, providing recommendations for improvements as needed.
- Support professional development initiatives for faculty, focusing on curriculum implementation and innovative instructional strategies tailored to enhance student learning.
- Maintain an awareness of graduation requirements and internal policies regarding course offerings, ensuring that all curricular decisions align with these standards.
- Assist in the evaluation and selection of instructional materials to ensure they meet the needs of the curriculum and support student success.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration among staff, school administration, the Arabic Language Lead and the Islamic Education Lead to support a cohesive approach to curriculum design and implementation.
- Participate in regular reviews of curricular and instructional practices, ensuring alignment with KHDA as well as national educational standards.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of a documentation process that captures the alignment of instructional practices with curriculum goals and standards.
- Participate in the development of strategies to enhance student engagement and achievement through the effective alignment of instructional practices with curricular standards.
- Collaborate with school leadership and relevant teams to identify and address strategic issues that may impact program effectiveness.
- Prepare regular reports on curriculum implementation progress, student performance, and recommendations for continual improvement, in line with school goals and objectives.
- Engage with external curriculum-related agencies and educational organizations to stay informed on best practices and emerging trends in curriculum development.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Campus Principal, or designee, in support of the educational mission and goals of the school.

Education and/or Experience Requirements: • Master’s degree (Education / Curriculum & Instruction / related) preferred, Bachelor’s minimum. • A minimum of 5 years of experience in curriculum development, instructional practices, or educational management. • Proven experience in facilitating professional development for educators focused on curriculum implementation and instructional strategies. • Strong knowledge of educational standards and practices related to the American Curriculum. • Demonstrated ability to analyze student performance data to inform instructional decisions and improve curriculum efficacy. • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders including teachers, administrators, and external agencies. • Ability to adhere to ethical and cultural guidelines and represent the school with integrity and professionalism. • Proven track record in a high-performing, quality-driven, team-based environment. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with educational technology and assessment tools. • Commitment to continuous improvement and a student-centered approach to education. • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks effectively. Experience: Minimum of five years of experience in teaching and a minimum of three years in a curriculum-related role within an educational setting. Experience should include curriculum development, instructional research, and assessment practices. A strong background in collaborating with faculty on instructional strategies, providing professional development, and evaluating educational programs is required. Familiarity with technology integration in education, policy development, and quality assurance processes is essential, along with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to prepare technical reports and documentation. Technical Competencies: Proficient in strategic and operational planning, effective communication, research methodologies, collaboration, organization, training, evaluation, project management, and facilitation. Exceptional oral, written, presentation, and interpersonal skills are essential. The Curriculum Specialist must be able to effectively present information to various stakeholders, including school leadership, faculty, students, parents, and the governing Board. The ability to communicate clearly and decisively, both orally and in writing, is crucial for engaging constituencies and working collaboratively with staff on a daily basis.
